Ok simple question does it do the job and does it sound 'convincing' ?

Cheers

I haven't tried one out personally, but when I was in the market for one, my guitar teacher told me to not waste my money. He said it is a good EQ pedal, but it still doesn't sound like an accoustic. He told me that I would be much happier with the CH-1 Super Chorus...and that is a great pedal.

Yeah thats pretty much what I thought...

No it doesn't. You'd be far better off getting a piezo system.

AC2 is sh**.

I had one once and ended up selling it because of the hum. I did do the job pretty well however. I'm much happier now that I bought a real acoustic.

that would be a good pedal to own

Get the one Behringer makes. It sounds as good as the Boss (IMO) which isn't great, but it's so cheap it almost doesn't matter :)

I havent heard one personally but all the reviews Ive read are not so good.
