Title: Summer Song Effect

TecWiz - October 20, 2005 11:26 PM (GMT)
I was listening to Summer Song the other day and never really realized what a cool wah sound the melody had! Does anybody know what wah he's using (I thought that it was the 535q but I didn't know if that had been out that long) and what it takes to get such a deep tone?

Good amps, good guitars, a good wah and most of all Joe's fingers.

im pretty sure its his custom made wah...im sure someone here can fill in the blanks...hopefully when Joe releases his own pedal line that the wahwah will be able to handle that effect similiarly

Yeah, I can't wait for that wah to come out (I wonder if it will have "song settings" on it)

I think he was using VOX wah on that album. I got verry simmilar sound with mcoy custom VOX pedal.

He uses a bit of dellay on that song. It really makes his sound deeper.

hahaha :)

I remember him saying he used an old dunlop wah on the song, but it could be Vox. I have those old interviews with Joe, but those old magazines are in storage somewhere else and I can't check to be sure. I DO definitely remember him saying that he had to use some studio EQ tricks to get such a sweet wah sound.
