Single Pedals have improve my sound I have some Boss and a cry baby, before getting those I use to have a zoom 505 and a Boss Me-30; but now I wouldn't change my boss single peddals.. they are sweet... take a look at them Mis Guitarras, amplos y efectos

I use multi cos its cheaper, but i have played with singles and i think it's a lot better
:beer3:

^^Yup, much cheaper and you can get a great result. I use the ToneWorks Pandora series, create your own sound, it's just brilliant - a little gem to me.

+1

Have a DigiTech GNX2, which I have programmed 4 settings I use alot, Clean, Lead, Rhythm and Mental! for Pantera type of tones.

For other occasions I have various Boss pedals, Bad Horsie 2 and Whammy Pedal.

All depends on what sound I'm after.

Absolutely single effect units are more quality sound. And they are really more sensitive your picking, tapping.

Processors cant be versalite. They can add your sound as extra color.

 Erm...indeed.

I prefer singles for the flexibility, though some multi-effects units are looking really tempting just now. They're just crying out 'Buy me! Me, me, me! Buy!'. Either that or I'm drunk. <_<

Vai uses multi-effects btw, so I can't see any arguement standing up about them being not versatile, not responsive, or not as nice sounding. At the end of the day, pick what you feel at home with. I also prefer singles because I've become somewhat technophobic in the past year or two, and don't trust anything with more than a few simple dials to work for very long.

Yeh, I think I know what you mean!! As I posted before, I do have a GNX2, but I'm 100% sure I ain't get the full use out of it. I've found my settings I like, tweaked them slightly and that was that. That was about a year ago and I haven't touched any of the settings since. Now when it comes to the pedals, well the knobs are always getting tweaked (no pun intended! ).

I use a Lexicon MPX-100 right now, and I'm stumbled hearing the delays and reverbs coming out of that device! Just fabulous! I had a Korg AX100G but when I play thru my Lexicon, it BLOWS the Korg thousand times away!
Note: I hate to admit i've not had any stompbox in my entire live playing over 6 years

Skyrunner - November 22, 2005 10:59 PM (GMT)
I hate to use stompbox at stage. Its very diffucult to tweak at stage. So In mini stage and home, processors save your life. But, processors are very bad at semi-professional studio records and medium stage and medium size concert.

Processors never provide pro sound. But my processors word dont include pro rack systems. I say that only floor board processors dont provide pro sound.

I love stomp boxes for studio use. However I have a Line 6 Vetta II, so I have to vote for multi f/x, even though that's only a piece of the Line 6 puzzle.

hoiguy79 - November 23, 2005 09:30 AM (GMT)
Well I have to admit that procesor like the G-Mayor are great; more on the reverbs, delays, compresors and EQ; but when it comes to distortions or overdrives and some modulation FXs like wha, well stomp boxes are the best for me.

motorcycle_driver - November 23, 2005 04:49 PM (GMT)
have any of you guys played on a Boss GT-8 MEP?

motorcycle_driver - November 23, 2005 04:52 PM (GMT)
How do you change to clean\overdrive in the stomp box quickly? or o you have to change it everytime with your hands?

neoclassy03 - February 26, 2006 11:18 PM (GMT)
i perfer single pedals and racks

brisdaddy - March 4, 2006 12:48 AM (GMT)
I have a digitech gnx3 and 6 or 7 boss single effects Ilike the gnx3 for recording but the single effects sound better live.

zenmonkey - March 5, 2006 10:49 PM (GMT)
I've got a Line 6 Pod XT Live, it's the absolute business and a piece of cake to use. Plus you can download new sounds from their webpage, meaning it's future-proofed
