I haven't tried the Zoom but I have a PXR4. I bought it when I sold all my big studio gear. The sounds are excellent, the recording is really easy, the built in drum machine is basic but very good. It's tiny, light, you can get cheap cards to expand the recording time and you can also download your tracks to your computer for further editing. I highly recommend it! :)

someone can tell us about the zoom recorder??
tschommer - December 4, 2005 03:35 AM (GMT)
I have the PX4 it's basically the PXR4 without most on the recording stuff and I love it. It does have a feature where you can record a short loop of rhythm guitar to play lead over. Its pretty limited but still functional enough to work out song ideas. I like it quite a bit, some of the preset guitar sounds are surprisingly good.

For what they're worth here is a link to the reviews at thr the ZOOM at Harmony Central
http://www.harmony-central.com/Effects/Dat...M/PS_04-01.htmlAnother tip... The Korg PXR4 came out in 2001 so it' kind of old, If you can wait until after the January NAMM show I would. I have been thinking about upgrading to the PXR4 but I'm going to see if anything new comes out from them. I also noticed that Musicians Friend is offering a PXR4 recording package that includes cabels, mic, headphones, and a book for $50 more than the regular PXR4.
