hi, just found these forums and i think ill be sticking around.

i had a question about one of the tones satriani uses quite often. im not sure how to describe it but he uses is during "Ice 9" on the "live in sanfrancisco" cd/dvd, from 2:57 -3:23.

its not his main lead tone, i cant tell if hes just rolling off the volume a bit, or if hes splitting the bridge humbucker, or both? i couldnt really tell.

any help is appreciated!

but remember he's using the digitech whammy so it sort of cuts the tone down especially he is using the DS-1

There's no way he's using the whammy pedal in that. Where do you hear anything even close to resembling the whammy? :huh:
