Hey i think we should have a section hopfuly stickey where u just post your own licks u made up your craziest tapping runs,crazy legato and double picking runs in this section i reckon it i'd be real cool to some of the skill that will show upin this section.

Maybe we could even have a thing similar to guitar batles were we get the rules down say no delay only reveb or only clean no delay and show of vids and compare em.


What do you guy's think.

Please dont start a competition type thing it will only end up with people feeling hurt because they cant play as good as someone else.

yes it creates negativity..in a very positive site ......this site is dedicated to Joe satriani and that stuff is for Guitar in general sites....check out guitars101.com thats where the battles and stuff are quite controlled...check out the thread of the battle i was in thats posted in this forum " top Notch Jam.....they guy was cheating me with 5 screen names....and now has been banned...but the thread is real funny as administration found out of his scam

Yes i suppose your right about not having compatition's in this forum is a bad idea,but hey we should still have a section dedicated to showing licks and ideas not actuall songs.

Well i dont think that you have to feel bad when you see a virtuoso or something like that , when a see a guitarrist a mean a very talented guitarrist playing 30 notes per second , I see him and i think I WILL do it ,why not??? he is a human me too!!! hey jamie you dont have to feel hurt about anything just take it as an inspiration to improve your playing. ;)

I completely disagree. I've been a member of Musicianwar.com since WAY back in its early days when it was guitarwar.com (I missed "Beta Veteren" status by a few months, I gather, lol), and prior to sevenstring.org getting off the ground it was the most open, supportive community of musicians I've ever been a part of. People who weren't members get hung up on the "music isn't a competition" thing, but honestly it's really not like that - sure, they keep track of records, but I post for the feedback I get on my playing and writng, and to learn licks and ideas from others. I gret tremendously as a guitarist because of that place.

So, with that in mind, if you're going to post some cool licks, post a tab too so it's not about showing off, but rather it's something we can all use as inspiration and as a learning tool. :)

I'll post some stuff when I get a chance to help get the ball rolling. :)

I will be posting some licks when i get my comp set back up so i can record since i put it in a different room.

why is this sped up? or is it my ears?

It's not sped up at all. It may sound that way because I double tap each note with the pick. I'll see if I can powertab it out...

speed is fast but melody is pretty crappy. sos just my two cents...

country one is good melody the phrygion one aint..

bah maybe i was to harsh when i mean crap i just basically mean i personally dont liek it. dont take it as a rude coment lol. just thought it was to "metal" like.

something i did in phrygian on my stratocaster.

cool...thats similiar to one i use often...just some delay sure smoothens it out..keep it up!...go up and downstairs, then end it if ya know what i mean
