Title: Daily Drills

Hello All, Everyday when I come back from work and sit next to my guitar, I dont know what to play....
I start with some pentatonic exercies but they kind of sound boring and after a while i stop playing them...which results in NO PRACTISE at all.
I will greatly appreciate if someone can post some melodic practise Lessons...? which I can enjoy as well as practise too...
THX MUCH

What do you mean? please elaborarte as i dont fully understand your question?

You cant practice melody lol its a thing that comes naturally. like listening to music and getting a feeling about a song and then so on...

What i meant is if you just play the scales of Bm or some other chords, they sound OK no melody is there...unless u do some mix and match of scales progressions etc... I need some handy lessons (e.g Rock Discipline of John Petrucci) which has great melody with the Exercise, not just running down on the Fret with scales....
Hope that explains..

If you want to start playing real melodies that you create yourself then JP's DVD is probably a really bad place to look!
Have a look at my theory thread for some ideas.... I'm going to post a new thread pretty soon too...
but for now, I would recommend that you pick up your guitar, and just play it!!! forget what you have read and learned so far and just play it!
If you don't like what your fingers are doing, change it!
If you find your fingers making some nice sounds, write them down! You can go back to your notes any time but you can never go back to a moment of inspiration....
Hope this helps you in some way! :)

exactly i say play around first if it sounds good. then look and ask around waht scales/mode it is and what key etc... experiment first... study after :)

I just play by ear and get along fine...the theory and scales are useless to me...
