Thanks for the link.

Al DiMeola has been around since the mid 70s, you should hear some of his acoustic playing. I can't listen to too much fusion stuff but I have a DiMeola best of CD that I listen to once and a while. It tends to give me brain sensory overload!

Good stuff if your in the mood for it.

You're welcome, Tschommer, yeah, i've heard of this guy for a while but I have never seen a video of him like this, he shreds and the rest of the band is pretty talented......B)

Can't argue with that! I like DiMeola's acoustic playing far more than his electric playing. His picking style seems more suited for an acoustic or classical.

Jazz fusion guys like Al DiMeola, John McLaughlin & Alan Holdsworth were all shredding back in the 70s long before it was even called shredding! They were all doing it quite a bit better than most of the guys that we hear today. You are also right about his band everybody is just up there shredding away, all very talented musicians.

saw holdsworth in a club . it was like one contiuous grinding guitar solo. nothing like the records. much more playing , almost seamless. it was like the whole show was one long holdsworth solo.

To have seen Holdsworth play live in a club must've been awesome, I wish I could see him play live as well as McLaughlin and DiMeola, they are all impressive. B)

I think I have his REH Instructional Video lying around somewhere. He plays all those tasty licks on an Ovation Acoustic! :o
