Title: My Pog Is Here!
Description: Oh my.....

GuitarDojo - May 17, 2006 07:46 PM (GMT)
I didnt know what to think. I plugged it in and started playing. Wow this thing has got the Octave thing down pat! The big test was to play a few chords to see if it farts out. Nope - I think I am going to have to ditch the Fulltone Ultimate Octave and my OC-2!

Cool, from what I've heard it sounds like a great pedal. What other stuff does it do?

I paid $279 for the POG. A music store on eBay. I will probably keep everything.

This thing is incredible and you got the Super Colossal sound right out of the box!

Juat got my pog, my gear nwo consists of a JS1200, my POG, Digitech Whammy, Boss DS-2, Boss ME-50 and a Boss PW-10 Wah! Just wondering GuitarDojo, what settings do you use for Super Colossal? The bass and organ sounds you can get are cool too :)

Joe talks about this sound. Damn I can't remember where though! A magazine interview transcribed online? A podcast? Maybe Dave Gruska can help...

<fires up the track for a listen...>

It sounds like not-very-much original signal plus one octave below plus two octaves below... I can get a similar sound with my $30 danelectro pedal

your correct, there is not a lot of the orignal signal. I was playing around with it last night and I got kind of close.

I got my POG today, and I love it!

It's just that explanation that doesn't make any sense to me, i'm a huge pedalnoob :)
There's no 2 octaves down slider.

Sub Octave slider =>one octave below
+1 octave slider
+1 octave detune slider (this sets the octave above or below the 1+ octave)
+2 octave slider
+2 octave detune slider (this sets the octave above or below the 2+ octave)

What do I need to do now?

congrats on the purchase!

i just had a look at the POG instructions and you're right - it doesn't do two octaves below :-/

maybe joe's playing an octave lower than i thought and the POG is set to one above and one below..?

I don't remember Joe ever talking about specific settings on the POG, and can't find anything in my notes. Sorry - just saw this thread B) I'll keep an eye out...

rygelxvi - September 28, 2007 05:56 AM (GMT)
Elektro Harmonix POG, the super Colossal sound? ;)

I returned it and got me a nice analog delay instead.
