Title: Legacy Combo Help!!!!!!!!
rocknuts - May 20, 2006 12:34 AM (GMT)
What a champion forum, but my utter respect goes to Joe Cipolla.
He is simply an inspiration to my playing and I have learned a lot from this guy. If I ever get the chance to visit the States, I will explain to my wife that I must meet Joe and buy the guy a beer. (where do you drink Joe? lol)
But please help me here with a question.
I own a Legacy combo. Now! I had this up for sale on Ebay but it didnt fetch the money I needed to fund a Line 6 Vetta combo.
So I have decided to keep the Legacy because along with my seperate stomp boxes, It gives me an awsome sound, but I would still have a better experience with the vetta, especially with recording my own material so if I bought the Vetta Head! Can I use the Legacy as just a speaker cab??? If I needed???
Any guidance would be welcome. Basically can you use the vetta head with a 212 combo???
A million regards,
Rocknuts

Yeah. You just have to match up the ohmage of the cab (presumably 8) to that of the head (whgich should also have an 8 ohm output), and make sure the cab's output wattage isn't exceeded by the wattage of the head. I'm not sre how many watts a Vetta is - probably 120 or so, so you should be save - but again, if it's seriously high, say 300, you can still get away with this provided you don't push the volume (and honestly, if you ever got to the point where you needed a 300-watt solid state amp more than 1/3 of the way up, the tube power section of the Legacy would probably really begin to come alive. ;))

Yes you can do it...all a combo amp is...is a head with an attatched cabinet. Just connect the jack that runs to the speakers into the output of the desired amp you want to play. And yes, like Drew said, you want to make sure that you have the switch set to the right amount of Ohms, or else bad things can happen.

Cheers guys!
I just dont have room for two amps.
The Legacy is a killer amp, yes, but the vetta just gives you everything you need on a plate at the touch of a button. They just do it for me!! :D

I play Carvin amps...one of em is a Legacy...for me it's one of the best lead player amp....warm, smooth, creamy, and fluid.
