Title: Aftershow Passes
Description: what to expect?
GGoTr - June 10, 2006 10:42 AM (GMT)
Hey to all,
what to expect from aftershow passes? Anyone was lucky to win some?
rygelxvi - June 10, 2006 07:15 PM (GMT)
I just received a mail from Galen Henson stating I have won two aftershow passes.
No idea what to expect, except for being very nervous when i meet Joe :)
Starting to email the poor fellow.
ps: i told him him he rocks
:rock2:

Most of the time, your passes will be waiting for you at the box office, or "will call", and you get two passes. Your email from Galen should tell you how to pick them up.
There are two kinds of passes for the fans...the aftershows which you win or are given, and the platinum, or diamond passes you have to purchase. After the show, hang around with the people who bought the special passes, the diamond ones, so that you don't miss Joe. Someone eventually will probably tell you where you need to go wait.
The people who bought their passes will get to meet Joe first, probably in a different room, and when he's all done with them, Joe will come out to meet with the aftershow pass people. You get a chance to get his autograph, picture with Joe and talk with him for a short time.
Try not to be so nervous that you can't remember the experience, LOL!! Joe is a sweetheart to talk to, very approachable, loves to laugh and hear what his fans have to say! Don't forget to take something with you that he can sign, if you want his autograph!! And have a fantastic time, congratulations on winning the passes rygelxvi!!

Thanks cheese101 for ur reply/advice.
Definition of Box Office, or 'will-call' : basically the entrance of the venue right, where I can pick them up?
I bought my ticket directly on the venue site.
Secondly, I don't think there are packages offered for the rest of the European Tour.
GGoTr - June 11, 2006 08:47 AM (GMT)
Thx a lot for the info, on friday I got a mail which said "Congratulations!".
I was kinda surprised.
Allways thought about getting those Platinum tickets, but in europe they aren't sold or? Or not until this tour.
So I'm kinda happy right now...

Nice to hear you got the passes too hehe
GGoTr, if those packages would be offered, i would have known, cause I would get me some :)
I'm taking all Cd covers with me, the backplate of my JS1000, and my good sense of humor :)
Don't forget the gold or silver pen ;) !!!
Eric - June 11, 2006 11:21 AM (GMT)
I'm also really lucky to have some awesome people on this board... GGoTr has offered me the second pass... you rock Andreas :rock2: But Rygel, how are you going to take all that with you? It's like 30 degrees here, and I don't think it's smart to bring an entire backpack to the show...
Does anyone know if it's forbidden to take a digi cam to Joe's shows?
Really looking forward to tomorrow! My first Satch show B)

Hope you can sleep Eric. What the digi cam concerns, you have to check the venue if it is allowed, or just drop me a pm (I have someone who can answer that for you)
What the cd covers and backplate concerns, there are lockers in the basement of the venue. I'll pick them up after the show.
Great plan innit? ;)
Two days to go too meet Joe personally.... I couldn't sleep yesterday, and I suppose I ain't will be any better tonight hehe

Do you know if cams are allowed at the show in Brussels? Couldn't find any info about that on their page...
Eric - June 11, 2006 06:27 PM (GMT)
thanks :D And yes, Ive been able to sleep... I'm so F*CK*NG tired of my exams...
for those who stay home: here's a webcast that'll probably be aired during the show:

Hi .... Ben ;)
For Brussels, I don't think even photo-cameras are allowed. AB is kinda weird even if the artist allows it. So we have to 'smuggle in' a photo camera on tuesday dude :)
You Dutchie? Or Flemish?

German... :)
What's a good time to be at the venue in Brussels? I've never been to AB before...not sure how many hardcore fans to expect... :D
rygelxvi - June 12, 2006 05:21 AM (GMT)
What to expect from AB? It's a rather small, but very cozy-ish Venue. 2000 peeps can get inside.
Things that can be interesting are
-lockers in the basement
-you can have lunch before the concert in AB (lunch is at 6)
-normally the balcony is open, so when you use the seats it is still close to the stage, because the venue is not big. So good view from there.
The concert is still not sold out.
I went to smashing pumpkins once, and the venue was filled half but still there was a lot of ambience.
EDIT: I just found out Robbie Williams is also playing tomorrow in Brussels, but at the expo. So expect a lot traffic problems and 'activity' (crazy chicks and stuff :) )
Eric - June 12, 2006 06:57 AM (GMT)
what's you camera smuggle in tactic, any interesting tips? Last year with queen I was able to "smuggle" food/drinks in because they searched everybody so badly (which is understandable if you have to do it like 30,000 times :P)...
oh, and I slept very well! Looking forward to tonight! :D

Sounds like a good venue for a small scale concert! Considering the temperature tomorrow, long socks are a bad idea. :D
Only one more day to wait!
@ Eric: Have fun! :)
rygelxvi - June 12, 2006 02:05 PM (GMT)
You have a better idea Ben? Perhaps staching it close to our 'family jewels'? :) :)
And trust me, with this temperature we are very lucky it's not going to be too crowded.
I believe AB has airco but not sure.
rygelxvi - June 12, 2006 02:07 PM (GMT)
Eric, can we get a report by tommorow morning? ;)

Just came back from amsterdam, it was a long night.... so I'm really tired and I have to study for my last exam! Tomorrow pics+story :)
rygelxvi - June 13, 2006 09:31 AM (GMT)
How were u able to smuggle camera in dude?
Eric - June 13, 2006 09:55 AM (GMT)
small compact cameras were allowed, they only confiscated the big 8MP,12x zoom cameras. I smuggled mine in my underwear, attached the camera to a button of my boxer :P

Holy crap I won!!! 2 backstage passes for the show in Denmark this tuesday.
I'm so psyched! This will be my first time meeting Joe!
So how much would be too much to bring for him to sign? I see people here bringing all their cd covers, guitar backplates, posters, etc. etc....
Oh, and did I mention that I'M SO PSYCHED!?!

Congrats buddy!!
I met Joe last Saturday. He is an amazing person with so much time for his fans.
Don't be put off what you are told about bringing one item only. Joe was happy to sign just about anything we put in front of him. If you have all his CD's, he will sign them all for you. He's a cool guy. Even though I have already met him, I still envy you cos your gonna go through an awsome experience.
About how it worked for me. I bought a prermium ticket though.
After the show, we met John Iverson at the merch booth and he took us downstairs in the bar where we all re-hydrated after such a hot venue. This gave everyone a good chance to have a laugh and talk about the show.
Then Joe came down. His manner was instantly friendly and warm as he came in.
We each took turn in standing over in a quiet corner of the bar with Joe and got a real one on one chat. He was full of good advice and he gave me plenty whilst he drew one of his strange character drawings on my guitar. He finished off with a signature. and held my guitar whilst we both posed for the photo's.
Then he left us as he went to greet the aftershow pass winners in the main concert hall.
From then on I guess it was the same idea.
It probably works different depending on the venue.

It will be communicated when you pick up the pass where to stand after the concert to pick up the winners.
If you want to take your guitar with you, you have to check with the venue if you can store it somewhere tilll the show is over ;)
Enjoy it dudie, it will be a night to remember!
SteelEdge - July 16, 2006 10:11 AM (GMT)
Well, IŽll talk with the venue for if they can store the guitar thu...I donŽt like the idea of lettin my Js10th alone ^_^
IŽve been talking with Galen Henson (such a nice guy!) and he has told me that Joe will gladly sign my guitar.I plain to take with me a couple of vinyls to haveŽem signed and dedicated by Joe.If I could, I even will tajke with me another white Js1000 I have XD.
I hope I could chat with Joe a couple of minutes, would be unbelievable to change some impressions with him and ask a couple of questions.
Just shaking the hand of my idol will be a dream.
