Title: Guitar Sound Setup Confusion
Description: Two diffrent sounds, both excellent

Lately ive been experimenting with alot of diffrent sounds and setups, finally after many years of trying various setups ive manged to nail a Ritchie Blackmore setting :P (His mid 80s sound)
Ritchie's early sound is pretty easy to replicate but his later sound changes dramatically , in honesty the only other person ive heard who has that kind of sound is Yngwie Malmsteen :o
Just of late though ive been working on diffrent Satch setups, and my latest one(although haven't done a cover with it yet) sounds very nice, a warm feeling to it :o
Im sort of conflicted which one to use, i really love my Blackmore setting as it makes me sound like no other, but then its to toney for Satchs stuff :o
I like the Satch setting, but its to fuzzy and warm for Blackmore songs :o
I know being on a Satch forum most of you would say ahh lose the Blackmore setting, but ive longed for that kind of sound and it is unique :)
Anyway any of you guys had the same kind of problem, choosing between a setting?
Oh yes i could use both but then i will sound diffrent on every track

I found myself a setting that works well for satch melody stuff and also deep purple kinda tone. I use it primarily as my main sound and tweak it from there to get something different. Check the smoke solo on my soundclick http://www.soundclick.com/sridhar

Sounds cool m8 :) , but Blackmores early sound isn't very agressive, if you listen to his sound round about his late Rainbow stuff and back into DP's Perfect Strangers its very diffrent ;)
Its got that very distinctive sound, when he does the Battle Rages on album it changes again, atm my setting falls between his Perfect Strangers and Battle Rages on sound(maybe not quite as good due to the fact im not using a proper strat). I think half the reason it sounds better then it should is due to the way i pick, im very agressive and thats why i think i get his low end sound well :P
If you listen to me doing Satch's stuff on my first few covers im still picking hard but Satch dosen't hehe, so i guess not only the sounds im conflicted on but perhaps my style to :o
I think changing your sound is easy, changing ones style is very difficult, i guess i will have to train myself some restraint on how i pick with Satch songs ;)
Btw nice to see another DP fan on here :D

Blackmore's sound is a great example of great guitar, great amp and great fingers. Simple is always better. Just guitar and amp approach seems to give the best tone. I guess you cant replicate that but we can try cant we  . I caught on to Deep Purple a bit late. Just been 2 months infact. Love songs like Lazy, When a Blind Man Cries which happens to be my fav.

Yeah they are defiently some classy songs, you want to check out the Perfect Strangers album m8, that is excellent , or if you want to here them in fantastic form on stage then grab the Nobodys Perfect album ;)
I think i'll alternate between them, like i said its taken me ages to come close to his sound, so i will keep using it, but use a diffrent one for Satch's stuff :P
