IMHO....this is a sell out for EVH to do the backing to a porn movie...its Eddie just using his fame to get near chicks who put out to old men.....and honestly those bar pulls are off...he needs a few lessons from Joe...but i cant help hearing parts that remind of the true Great EVH....i hope he keeps it up but im pretty tired of waiting for some material with substance...or an effort to get a band together...even a solo album we be awesome

kane_satriani - July 28, 2006 11:14 AM (GMT)
I didn't like that at all sory, Van halen really doesn't impres with this sort of playing.

odd trio - July 29, 2006 10:19 PM (GMT)
he needs DLR , the jazzman...

cube - July 30, 2006 01:38 AM (GMT)
lets hope this leads to more EVH tunes

It's about Eddie is out of the house!!! What he needs to do is get the orignal VH back together. That would be one hell of a tour don't you think?

Axeshredder - November 11, 2006 09:24 PM (GMT)
his son Wolfgang (singing..maybe bass) is in the band now and there working for next year...rumor has it

That is huge news!!! I just found this on Wikipedia...

In November 2006, after weeks of speculation, it was officially announced that Van Halen is recording new music with David Lee Roth and preparing for a Summer 2007 tour with Eddie's son, Wolfgang, on bass(instead of Michael Anthony). Fans are anxiously awaiting the news on who will play bass on the tour that will follow as Wolfgang is still too young to be a full time member of a touring band.

The_Alien - November 12, 2006 10:37 AM (GMT)
oh my god oh my god oh my god!!!!!!

I MIGHT GET TO SEE VAN HALEN!!!

Rocklegend - November 12, 2006 01:25 PM (GMT)
Interesting...I know that Michael Anthony has been in Sammy´s Band playing Bass and I guess EVH is a littl pissed to ask him to play Bass.It won´t be Van Halen without Michael Anthony on Bass.I would take this rumor with a grain or two of salt as I would be amazed if EVH would make music with DLR again after the Mtv thing and the war of words in the media between the 2 camps

i can't see diamond Dave or EVH getting along long enough to tour .

Axeshredder - November 12, 2006 05:13 PM (GMT)
i think as theyve gotten older, they can leave there youthful attitudes in the past and realize this is the last chance for the BIG payday....maybe they can become good friends too...but not neccessary to go on stage with 10 hours a week

The_Alien - November 12, 2006 09:39 PM (GMT)
one tour. could it hurt? if it ends and they hate each other more, at least they'll be a whole lot richer, and me, a whole lot happier (unless they put their bad moods together and contrive to suck on stage)

you would think at around 45 or whatever EVH is, he'd be smart enough to forgive and forget, money aside, why let a great duo of musicians, and friends stay split apart like that.

tschommer - November 13, 2006 12:14 AM (GMT)
Like Axeshredder said, I think the prospect of a huge payday could be a big motivating factor. I also think that a big key to making this work will be for Eddie to realize that Dave is not always the bad guy in every situation. When the original breakup actually happened I felt it was almost entirely Dave's fault because Eddie just seemed like such a cool laid back guy and Dave always came off as a hyperactive egomaniac. Since then, I have developed the opinion over the last 15 years that Eddie is a raging narcissist and an egomaniac as well and he is probably at least 50% at fault (maybe much more!!). How can you not get along with Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony!!

In spite of Eddie's guitar playing, I would much rather go hang out at the Cabo Wabo and hoist a few Waboritas with Sammy than hang out with Eddie.

JMHO

I read it, and have to say it's pretty disappointing. Ed stipulated before the interview that he would not talk about anything except his new signature amp, so rather than being an actual interview about past / future music or even his recent stint in rehab it comes off as more of a 12 page advertisement for the 5150 III.
