Thanks XPGod...that little sound check vid was new to me! :)

Also loved Petrucci playing to AWM, AWY...and then Eric walks out but the video cuts out...DAMN! LOL! Would love to have seen that whole thing!

I think petrucci handles it well.

He is better for G3 Jams than Yngwie

Interesting name you have Knob Head.

motorcycle_driver - October 31, 2006 05:48 PM (GMT)
yup, petrucci's a good jam mate!

Satch2004 - November 10, 2006 11:18 PM (GMT)
Petrucci is i'd have to say the greatest jam-man. He just fells the music and comes up with great improvisation.

He must not have had his hair cut since the last G3 lol ^_^

I was seeing Dream Theater's Score video teaser, and Petrucci looks hell lot like James Hetfield!!!!

Honestly, people don't like him and find him lame. I love his improvising solos with shred, like G3 Tokyo, hell he nearly reached our beloved Satch's soloing level!!!!!!

wasp2020 - November 17, 2006 11:29 PM (GMT)
His legato is nice.

Satchmo72 - February 14, 2007 03:31 PM (GMT)
OMG was that cool. Thanks for posting this. I love to watch John play especially on one Satch's greatest songs!!

John is an amazing muscian's and improviser. the funny thing is, that this is probably the most animated i've ever seen him playing. If you watch the older g3, he almost doesn't move at all. That's why for me at least the G3 with Yngwie was fun, cause he is really funny to watch. Don't like him, but he is fun to watch/laugh at :P

So seeing him [John] here actually feeling the solo and moving to it is cool.

BTW, on a pure tech basis, I think John is the better musican.
Satch's strong point I always felt was his phrasing and melody sense.
