Erm I'll vote on this after next week i currently have a solid state fender stage1600 and pod xt live and have a damn excellent patch I create for Satch sound but orderd a JSX and cab this week so I may well vote tube...well its alot of dosh so i hope I'll be voting tube hehe.

I voted for tubes, and most people will agree that they are better sounding for the most part. I think that they both have their advantages though. Digital modeling amps are generally much more versatile, as they have tons of built in effects in addition to the multiple amp models. They are also better for beginners as they can get good high gain tones at low volumes, and they are much cheaper and more reliable.

I use digital to record via my PC home studio and a Peavey XXX head and 2X12 cab for live use.

Tube amps are old technology. They should be able to invent a digital amplifier that sounds just as good you might think.
