Title: Satriani Live! Giveaway Contest!

motorcycle_driver - November 14, 2006 06:00 PM (GMT)
What It is

We are inviting everyone to create their own short video of what you would dream if you were a robot. All of the SATRIANI.COM members will vote on their favorite videos and the winners will win some cool swag.

The Details

Come up with an idea for your video -- let your imagination run wild! If you were a robot would you dream of other robots? Humans? Space exploration? Love? Eating pancakes with syrup? A nice clean oil bath? Include your family, pets, friends, sock puppets, etc in your video.

Create your video -- use your webcam or use pro video gear, it doesn't matter. All videos must be under 5 minutes and may use excerpts of the song "One Robot's Dream". However, there is no requirement for there to be music. Take care not to use someone else's video without permission.

Upload it to YouTube and tag it with "onerobotsdream".

After your video has been posted, verify it shows up when searched on "onerobotsdream". Here is a link to all videos with that tag.

Post on the "Talk To Joe" page to share it with other fans while we wait for videos to be posted and set up the voting system.

After the videos start coming in, we will create an area on SATRIANI.COM where you all can vote on your favorites until the end of the year.

The creators of the top 10 videos will win a special prize package that includes: Signed "Satriani LIVE!" DVD & CD, G3 South America tour shirt, and G3 Australian tour shirt.

Selected winning entries will also be featured on SATRIANI.COM.

At this point, entrants must be US residents and over 13 years old to win the swag, but anyone may enter and share their videos and be featured on the web site.

Did you not read the part at the bottom that says "ONLY OPEN TO US RESIDENTS"?

PhryDom - November 14, 2006 08:24 PM (GMT)
I got the signed DVD and CD, not arsed about t-shirts. And I don't have a video camera. Think I'll give it a miss ;)

I dont hate america or the people but that is one thing that seriously pisses me off :P No offense!

To be honest, the prizes are not that great (agreeing with Phry). It's a very cool contest concept though, I'll be interested to see some of the entries. I wish they were giving away a JS1200 or something, just because I think there would be so much more effort and creativity put into the videos.

Maybe he should give away one oh his hats, that always seemed to create lots of interest here. :P

Me and buddy are going to be working on a vid this weekend. I'm very surprised to not see one up yet to set the precedent for others! I'm not gonna get all demanding on prizes, but yeah, I'd enjoy the shirts; I already have the DVD.

Satch, maybe you could throw in one of your hats? Those things are shweet!

odd trio - November 19, 2006 10:15 PM (GMT)

Well thats better but still no sense at all related to robots having dreams.... it was just random.

The cartoon is a bit better much more related...though aint it against the rules to use other peoples work, cos its basically a Japanese program all the way through...

it's almost the end of the year, and the poll is still not up!!! i think the mods will end the contesst without announcing the winner!
