If I'm working on a progression and just want to get an overview of the flow of each chord to the next I'll sometimes use these fingerings. I don't like the five and six string fingerings the chord books give, and I only rarely use power chords. Later I generally re-voice them with the voice-leading thing mentioned elsewhere. All are with a root of C and are moveable (unless the root is too low, in which case I'll go up an octave or just make another voicing).
