I always think about this sort of thing... By Mix CD, I don't mean just 10 or so "Greatest Hits"...Surfing, Extremist, Flying, Summer Song, Mystical, Always, etc... - That's not what I mean at all. I need it to be representative of his songwriting and (secondly) playing abilities, I need it to stand out on it's own, and with priority given first and foremost to good flow (with good representation in mind) and have good musical mood connections. And still be accessable, listenable, and a good look int Satriani.
I think of it as, if the person listening has never heard of Satriani before. That sort of thing too. A Greatest Hits would work too, but that would be too easy!

I'd make Summer Song the first song if I were introducing somebody to Satch. It's just a great, rockin' tune.
also replace ''friends'' with ''time machine''. i think ''time machine'' is a ''non commercial'' version of a ''friends'' type song. wasnt that about the time that ''friends'' tv show started? anyhow , i heard ''time machine'' on a progressive rock radio show , a couple weeks ago . i really realized thats an interesting song.
the song Why should be there......... and the traveller they are very catchy songs that would fit nicely near the "its so good" song.
