Title: My Weird Experience At G3.....
Description: My sad experience at G3, and solution
mouhsen - March 25, 2007 06:11 AM (GMT)
thank full this issue has been resolved as of march 26th, so.... if you would like to know what happened.....it's below, otherwise, ignore :)
I have sent this to the fan club....however I am not sure if i will get any reply.....
I though that the show was great, however, i felt a bit ripped off. please read below to understand why. I apologize in advance, as i am tired, and quite disappointed.
To Whom It May Concern,
I had purchased 2 Gold package tickets to attend the G3 concert in Chicago. Upon arrival at 6pm on the day, I asked where the early entry was, and I was referred to the back of the line by security and told there was no early entrance for today. Upon entering the venue, I ask if this was true, to which somebody told me I was supposed to be there from 5:30pm and that they had already allowed people in. I proceeded to enter, and to ask about the my tickets, and I was then told that I was not supposed to be on the floor, but rather in the seated section at the end of the theater, 3 people actually confirmed this [I apologize that I was not able to get names]. After which, I watched the first section of the show, and asked to speak to the manager the venue who was very courteous and went and asked for me, and apologized that there was nothing he could do to help me, and recommended me to speak to Mr. John Iverson [whom I tried contacting numerous times, I had called him on the day at 4pm and left a message]. He met with me, and told me, there is nothing I can do for you; it’s your fault that you didn’t come early. I explained that the email had stated
“Please meet our fan club coordinator, JOHN IVERSON, in front of the venue box office 15 MINUTES BEFORE DOOR TIMES.
PLEASE ARRIVE ON TIME! “
The ticket states 7pm, and no email was sent that the doors open at 6pm. To which Mr. Iverson replied: other people made it in… sorry, there is nothing I can do for you now….he told me, perhaps we can get you a shirt, please speak to one of the people at the stand, and show your badge….I returned to the show, After the show, I spoke to one of the employees at shirt desk, and the manager there said, I saw you speaking to Mr. Iverson, however unless you bring him to me, I am not giving you a shirt…..
I went home and tried to fight the disappointment that I paid 300$ for tickets that could’ve cost me 68$, and I felt that I was not treated fairly.

Actually my G3 Ticket just states DRS 7PM, mine is for House of Blues Orlando on March 30th, so thats not always the case.
mouhsen - March 26, 2007 05:15 AM (GMT)
go early ;) hang out with people, and call the house of blues just to triple check.
it's a great show, I'm not knocking g3.

Hope you get somewhere with this as you state you are out of pocket a considerable sum of money considering you didn't get what you paid for and there should have been better communication to let you know EXACTLY where to be and at what time.

update:
I had my issue with the G3 concert resolved, spoke to a persons with who works with the fan club and arranges the tours, about helping me resolve my ticket issue and getting me a refund for the difference.
I was very worried that I would be ignored. And I truly appreciated that somebody called me up, and tried to understand the situation with empathy.
just wanted you guys to know, you always have people that complain when something bad happens and not when something good is done to fix it.

w00p glad you got it sorted :D how much money you getting back ?
mouhsen - March 26, 2007 08:43 PM (GMT)

By the way Mouhsen....did you see that Joe posted a personal message to you about your situation, over at satriani.com? :) Joe cares!
SirChick - March 27, 2007 02:27 PM (GMT)
is it this:
Moe, so sorry to hear about the ticket thing... the guys running it really do care, and want to make it right, every night... Big thanks to all our G3 fans for making this tour so much fun! ...Joe...

I dunno if this is it but this sounds ridiculous!
'sorry for this, the guys really care! Btw, thanks to everyone!'
If he cares I believe he should do something or order someone to do something.

i dont actually believe joe is the one typing them joe messages anyway..... some times the dates that the messages he posts... are mentioned as the date and time that he uses on a podcast and so he cannot do both at same time.
cheese101 - March 27, 2007 07:52 PM (GMT)
That is the message for mouhsen that came directly from Joe, as mouhsen also posted over at satriani.com about his situation. Joe reads the posting board over there, just doesn't always have time to post himself.....and if you'll notice the date of his post, it was on their day off from doing any G3 shows.....all of Joe's posts are in blue.
Mouhsen had also already posted that his situation was resolved very nicely by the vendors, so no need for Joe to go any farther with the situation....I think it was kind of him to notice and put a personal reply about it to his fan. Joe did the same for me last week in response to one of my posts. He's a very lovely and decent man who tries his best, but can't be all things to all people, all the time.
And fyi, Joe's webmaster does the uploading of his podcasts, not Joe himself. So it's possible for Joe to post at the same time webmaster Jon is busy adding things to the site.
SirChick - March 27, 2007 09:05 PM (GMT)
I meant joe "states" with his own human voice the date that he is making his podcast such as "hello were in germany its currently 24th july etc etc" and webmaster is 6 months slow. Heck i could build the entire satriani website before webmaster posts something on time ;)
PhryDom - March 28, 2007 12:45 AM (GMT)
e-x-a-m-p-l-e
podcast "hello we're in cologne, germany and it's 5pm"
website "hi everyone hope to see you all on stage tonight in cologne., posted by joe at 5pm"
website time is six hours behind germany time (in se usa, even more behind in local time ca, usa), which means that joe typed his message, then six (or more) hours later made a podcast.
unless you can give an example of joe allegedly being in two places and/or doing two things at the same time i'm going to assume you're talking bollocks.
oops, EDIT - forgot to add "same time" of the website post
mouhsen - March 28, 2007 04:58 AM (GMT)
in anycase, i am happy that somebody responded. and It was nice that joe posted something.
SirChick - March 28, 2007 09:13 AM (GMT)
True phrydom the time zones i never thought of that, i guess that could be possible.
stewmunny - March 28, 2007 10:30 AM (GMT)
Hey guys remember only the girlies can multi-task :D
PhryDom - March 28, 2007 02:24 PM (GMT)
;)
But I agree on the webmaster thing. He's not exactly Mr Current Affairs most of the time.
