Title: Satriani's 'rubina' Effects

Does anyone know what type of chorus pedal Satriani used for Not of This Earth? Namely the chorus effects on the tracks 'Rubina', 'Driving at Night' and 'The Snake'. I know he mainly uses the Boss CE-2 and CH-1 MIJ pedals, but I'm not sure if he used the CE-2 for NOTE?

i dont know if he is on Rubina, u certinanley dont need to anyway, im pretyy sure the clean tone is just delay, and the dst tone is reverb, with maybe a little dellay but u can bareley hear it, i did a cover of the song a while ago, all i use is delay on both the clean and distortion.

I'm pretty certain the clean melody guitar line contains chorus, and I'd be willing to wager there was a subtle chorus on the lead and rhythm parts too. Just remember, this was mid-80s man, we used chorus for everything! :P

Lol yeah, he probably has something going on just very suttle, so u dont notice it, but would if it was turned of, but if your thinking of covering the song it sounds just fine with delay man and a nice clean sound.

It's no so much for covering his songs, I'm after a similar effect for in the studio - I want to recreate that lush, spacious feel. He must have used analogue delay and chorus, that much I'm sure, but I'm not sure exactly what pedals he used. My guess is a MIJ Boss CE-2 for chorus.
Btw, I have a Crybaby 535q I'm getting rid of, it's practically new. I bought a new Budda wah which I like a lot better. So, if you're interested just drop me an email. I live in the UK btw.

THanx for the offer, i also have a 535q, that im not happy with it doesn't like my ds1 sounds like shit when used with it :(

Yeah, the Dunlops aren't very well made. I've owned both the original crybaby and the 535Q models and they are both too harsh and trebly with a really limited sweep. Satriani uses Vox and RMC Teese Wizard Wah pedals, both of which are leagues ahead of the newer Crybaby models. The Budda wah is great too, it's basically a modernised Vox wah, very mid-sounding with no piercing high notes at the end of the sweep.

I did mention he uses the RMC Teese pedals, but thanks for contributing.
