Title: Js700
Description: top-end Japanese JS '95 model

I'd just like to talk about the JS700 model released in '95 and seen in the video "(you're) My World". It was a really beautiful guitar, mahogany body, transparent red finish with a lovely grain, original p90 pickups, made in Japan, single-tail piece. The model was really amazing, and it was selling for about half the price of the JS1000! I can't understand why this top-end japanese model, which was just as high a quality as the JS1000 model, did not get more recognition. I can only speculate that the lack of whammy bar and the vintage p90 pickups didn't suit the heavy metal Satriani fans at the time, which was a shame. I used to own one of these and I thought they were excellent instruments, perhaps even better than the js1000 (which I've also owned). My brother picked one up for a low price recently, and I heard they are becoming very rare indeed!

by the way, is it just me or is the new Candy apple red model JS1000 pretty repulsive?

I have been searching for one for a while now. Korean ones pop up an ebay quite a bit, but the good Japanese models are pretty rare. One of my all time favorite JS models.

Yeah I've been looking for one for a while too... Im happy to stick with my other JS guitars but I don't know what it is with this guitar! It just makes me wanna' blues....
...I've had no luck finding one but as tschommer said they do pop up on ebay every now and again but as you can imagine go for ridiculous prices in some cases! But alas I remain optimistic that one will pop up again soon...

Definetly not dude! I just hate the CA and I am always wondering when somebody says that the color is just awesome... (no offence against the owners though :))
It looks like a lolipop (if it is written that way)... just like ... candy... awfull...

I agree, the CA is beautiful, but it's not for me. I'm just not a big fan of flashy guitars, and the CA paint is a bit loud for my taste. One of the reasons that I love the 700 is that it has the beautiful curvy JS body, but with traditional old school electronics and hardware. I lone the sound and look of p90s!!

Not on crack - on personal preferences ;)
The first thing that I am gonna do if I every get my hands on one of the Vai's pinky (pruple) swirly guitars is sanding the 'very rare and unique' paint off....

That's the finish I bought, and let me tell you you won't be disappointed, that guitar is so much more beautiful in the flesh! ;)
