Title: Itlis Wah

Sonik - August 5, 2007 10:18 AM (GMT)
Hi!

I'm currently working on this song but in the solo part joe uses his wah as a filter  what does it mean? How can i reproduce this effect ( i have a crybaby db-01). Also, i have troubles getting the proper wah setting for the verse part, maybe 535q owner could help?

Thanks

Ok i've made a mistake, it was written on the tab book "wah as filter" but there is no special setting except joe's fingers!

Anyway i still don't find the vocal effect with my wah, i have always too much treble don't know if it comes from the distorsion or the wah.

Here is what i am talking about, sorry for the bad playing these songs are just a test.

I think it means you leave the wah on, and leave it at a set angle (filter) to create different tones or rock between tones slowly, so its not necessarily wah'ing. If that makes sense.

i.e push toe down and you get a brighter filter, heel down and you get a bassier tone.

CC - yes I think that's what its meant with Wah as Filter

Sonik - that treble sound is so annoying, even the 535Q has this problem mate...

For instance when playing Love Thing, he uses the Wah at some points to create the wanted feedback by going from toe down to lowering the heel almost completly and then let it 'sit' for five six seconds, the rest is all in his fingers :)

CCs - you're right as i have to let the heel down through the solo part to obtain the effect.

ryg - Ok so it is the character of the dunlop wahs as it share the same base plus the fine tuning, i must use it smoother as its course is short compare to the variation of tone.
I wasn't use with that with my old wah, but i as i get more pratice i get great and versatile tones.

Thanks for these explainations ;)
