I'm guessing this is new.

But it had these excellent little audio demonstrations of the different pick scratches he does (middle eastern tremelo picking, computer gltiching, glissando, DJ record scratch, etc), with instructions, which you can do with any pick (except the "Metal Pick" one >_>).

Cool bro! Thanks for this info!

EDIT There are also three new straps coming up :)

That metal pick sounds really cool actually. I want one :P

stewmunny - July 28, 2007 08:58 PM (GMT)
very cool indeed even if you are not into the scraping sounds the warmer sound you get is a must. can't wait till I can order one of those :D

keywe - July 31, 2007 12:26 AM (GMT)
I've ordered a couple of them...I'll see what they're like

I really like thin picks the best, but I use the heavier, thicker picks as well

Just wondering what the flex on the metal pick will be like

mouhsen - August 1, 2007 02:20 PM (GMT)
i looked at them, and i really liked the little pick tricks, some I know, some I don't.
however i didn't get something, is it 6$ per pick pack or 6 per pick.

rygelxvi - August 1, 2007 06:04 PM (GMT)
Per pack, four picks right?

Otrovanje - August 2, 2007 09:50 AM (GMT)

If I got it right, it says you get one metal pick + 4 plastic satriani picks for 6$! B)

stewmunny - August 4, 2007 01:14 PM (GMT)
when do these marvels become available in August? if i don't get one then I may be tempted to spend a whole lot more on a guitar

stewmunny - August 5, 2007 10:09 AM (GMT)
Dam and z blast....available in USA only same as the SWTA remastered CD signed by JOE sob sob

keywe - August 5, 2007 06:17 PM (GMT)
I ordered on 7/29 & have a confirm, but no shipment date yet...says they're "searching for stock"

Spider - August 5, 2007 08:32 PM (GMT)
Want one, hope it'll be available in eu. Dont know if it has some special abilities mentioned on the site but it looks cool anyway ;)

Only the first 500 SWAT orders got the signed cover though, so even over here not too many people are getting them.

well there was an ebay Ibanez Joe Satriani chrome pick up for grabs at £2.99 so I went for it and forgot about it thinking no-one else would be interested....the winning bid was £3.19 by someone who has bought 269 picks in the last 3yrs and only other ebay purchase was a plectrum holder...his last plectrum was a Sheryl Crow....how hacked off am I? lol

Stewmummy, I have some of those Chrome picks at home. They're plastic, with a chrome finish. One day of shredding and it starts to peel off ;)

wetpants - August 12, 2007 12:33 AM (GMT)
I can get that those same sounds on my JS 1200 using a nickel or a penny as a pick...

Soon it will be possible to play guitar without touching (or stomping) on anything not endorsed by Joe Satriani! :D

Axeshredder - October 28, 2007 05:26 AM (GMT)
there isnt anything to stomp on yet but.....Joe deserves the profits from the quality gear he puts his name on...which i believe an effort is made by him to not let anything with his name be less than usable by himself...except the js-100 which is just to market those without the big cash to still own a great guitar,,,which i even used at the gig tonight...for D tuning and believe you / me...they were diggin it.....ive used metal picks before but not this thick but is smooth with the weight and thickness of a quarter dollar coin....and actully a nice addition to the variety of tones you can get from the guitar :rock2:
and all planet waves gear is really great...im a big fan

Powerslave214 - October 28, 2007 10:53 PM (GMT)
Thanks for posting the picture....didn't know these were actually out in stores already.

I'd buy that as a collectable, but probably wouldn't use it. Once I've gone Jazz III, no other pick will do it for me :D

Axeshredder - October 28, 2007 11:03 PM (GMT)
i really didnt think i would have interest in this pick but i really enjoy the feel (smooth) and noticed it to be more precise in striking the string consistantly...but for playing softly i would not reccomend it...i had to buy this through ebay...stores dont seem to be carrying them.......????

I agree! Joe does not have to make any apologies for anything he has put his name on.

Avenyr - November 7, 2007 03:08 PM (GMT)
Everything I have tried that has Joe's name on it has impressed me so far. I have ordered a chrome dome pick set from ebay and I am eager to receiving them soon enough and test them out.

I just hope it's not just a chrome covered plastic pick though :S

Axeshredder - November 7, 2007 06:01 PM (GMT)
you get 1 chrome and 4 plastic..the chome is the best quality metal pick ive seen...it punched like coins are and has nice smoothened edges that make picking as effortless as plastic

wasp2020 - November 8, 2007 07:30 AM (GMT)
sounds damn nice

Avenyr - November 8, 2007 01:47 PM (GMT)
This is going to be fun :D

Avenyr - December 5, 2007 07:24 PM (GMT)
I got a Chrome dome a while back and I gotta say this things is quite a thick piece of heavy artillery. This thing is pure stainless steel and it's the size of the standard plastic JS plastic picks.

I had quite a laugh playing around with it and having my friend who is an avid racing fan ask me what racing games or race I was playing / watching on TV before he got to my room and realize I was making the sounds with the guitar and the pick. It's really something I'm going to see how I can use in the long run.

Spider - December 6, 2007 08:10 PM (GMT)
Just ordered one too :)

rygelxvi - December 7, 2007 09:18 AM (GMT)
Cool! Those metal picks are just great! You won't regret Spider :)
