Title: Axeshredder Pedalboard

Axeshredder - September 28, 2007 01:23 AM (GMT)

BBE Sonic Stomp has really made alot of difference in having all these pedals and what it will do to yur tone...i run it through the effect loop w/ the delay and reverb pedals. BBE SS gives you more presence and clarity without the high end bite.

Today i just received the BBE Supa-charger that charges all pedals with a hum free transformer. Its a new item released so i bought a scratch and dent for $108 free shipping...list is $149...well it came in perfect new condition.

Ive been working on this setup for a month or so with almost ever different combination and this setup rocks with extreme versatility running through the jsx. I may pull out the whammy and replace it with some distortion peds. My cover track of Ice Nine is a sample of the tone im getting.

Axeshredder, tell me more about that BBE Sonic pedal

I've been debating on getting one of those...you say you run it in the loop?

I've been bored with my effects lately & now you've got me excited again...been thinking about a modded-DS1 too

And by the way, how about the Boss noise suppressor?

Do you find these really make a difference?

I've got 2 Boss BCB-60 boards full & a BCB-30 board full (loop effects)...what am I going to do?

Axeshredder - September 28, 2007 09:11 PM (GMT)
you really notice the sonic stomp when you turn it off...it gives you presence with out all the high end and i find it perfect addition to the delay and reverb loops. The Noise suppressor is better then any unit ive tried ...even the more expensive....the key is setting it so it goes offf at the slightest pressre of a fretted note....cop my setting if you get one...you will be very satisfied...but mind all the noise you dont hear when your idle is there when your playing but most wont know...including you

I would get one of those cable stations but they seem awfully expensive

dammit you have a full tone ultimate octave, i really want one, but they are really expensive, and hard to find in the uk.

stewmunny - October 1, 2007 08:42 PM (GMT)
I have the cable station kit as well. It is the business in terms of quality and being able to make your connections any size you want is superb so everything can be just right size and nice and neat. Definitely worth the price if you ask me. :D

Axeshredder - October 1, 2007 09:14 PM (GMT)
well i thought the plugs were plastic..no...solid metal and heavy....also a spring alteration to the jack that keeps the plug snug.....assembly and cutting of cables is childs play...i thought it was expensive but the quality cant be topped and now after purchase...it was well worth the $60...ill post pic of rewiring soon

Joe your board is looking mighty fine. I too have the pedaltrain and just to let you know you can get extra-strong heavy duty genuine velcro rolls off ebay....you can hang your board upside down shake it and nothing will budge so you can be sure inside your nice case nothing will come undone and damage another pedal.

Axeshredder - October 11, 2007 07:36 PM (GMT)
thanks man for the advise..though ive had some issue witht he adhesive not sticking but i was going to re velcro some pedals but clean the surface with thinner or alcohol migh help the adhesive hold stronger than the velcro

stewmunny - October 12, 2007 07:50 PM (GMT)
Joe i had the same issue with the velcro that comes with the board but the adhesive on the heavy duty velcro is a whole different bond strength and very reliable this is the kind of thing

for the wah i re,oved the rubber feet and boss pedals removed the rubber base, ok no resale value now but those pedals are hard to removed from the board now hehe.

hey Joe, how are you liking (or not!) the Fulltone Ultimate Octave?

Axeshredder - October 13, 2007 03:31 AM (GMT)
thanks stew..ill be checking that out this weekend

well Phrydom, ive noticed that it works much better with the neck pup than the bridge. Really just playing around with it for now until i can pin a good application for it. but im really diggin into these fx now and trying to find an original way to use them....but its on tha back burner for a few weeks...picked up a hired gun gig thats going to be in manhattan in 2 weeks so ive got an intersting list of covers to work on and im back to the Flextone amp for a while...1 day and i miss the jsx already...i think ive broken it in finally..lol...also back to playing the strat...variety is good!

Great set-Up there Axe.I must invest in a pedalboard at some stage.Haven´t gotten round to it.

Best of Luck with ur gigs as a Gun for Hire.Show ´em what u can do.....

Axeshredder - October 14, 2007 04:21 AM (GMT)
thanks for the Luck..it worked.. i just got back from meeting the guys..singer bass and drums are highly talented....and man, the chemistry was seriously clicking on the rehersed and improvised stuff...from the looks of it , this is going to be more than just a hired gun gig......with a chemistry like this, i have a feeling ill be knowing these guys for a long time.....heres the songs we did this evening

Temple of the Dog: Hunger Strike
Pearl Jam: Even Flow
Soundgarden: Fell On Black Days
Rush Workingman
Led Zeppelin: Whole Lotta Love
Smashing Pumpkins: Today & Cherub Rock
Jimi Hendrix: Red House

and suprisingly are one rehersal from ready to go..well be doing 2 sets..this is almost 1

i am extremely exited about this..thanks for listening

FenixBG - October 25, 2007 01:36 PM (GMT)
Hey Axe! Great pedalboard.

Been away for a while... due to lack of internet access at home. have to catch up with the forum :).. well still don't...

By the way, what does the BBE actually does?

To all who have doubts about the Boss NS-2 - it just rocks so much! I own one as well and as I am with a transistor amp (Peavey Bandit 112) which has lots of extra noise on the lead, i actually use the NS not only for the pedals but for the amp as well and it just shuts it up. As if nothing is on.

It sounds as if something exciting might happen from the words about the gig, hope it works out perfectly.

Axeshredder - October 25, 2007 09:29 PM (GMT)
thanks man.....sthe show is saturday here... http://crashmansion.com/
not listed being a private show...some heavy hitters have been on that stage..ought to be fun.. :rock2:

Axeshredder, based on your favorable comments, I purchased a BBE Sonic Stomp...only had it a couple of weeks...I like it & I would say, as others have said, it's a pedal I'll never turn off

Now I'm just a bedroom player, on a Marshall stack, where I never turn the volume up past about "2" with the VPR engaged (cuts the wattage from 100 to 25 I think), but this pedal definitely adds more clarity + thump - whichever you want

I just need to keep experimenting....running in the loop like you said

Thanks for recommending this one

Oh, the blue LED in this pedal is great...gives a blue glow to an entire room, which to me, anyway, is pretty neat...wish all my effects had blue ones

Axeshredder - October 27, 2007 02:20 PM (GMT)
the only reason i even knew about this effect is i think i read somewhere Joe used the rack unit...and i can see why....many also use the plug in to enhance tracks after recording.
Glad you found the information posted useful...BTW..theEVH Phaser also has that blue led but was too bright for the picture..lol :rock2:

cool gear! i hope that i can afford that in future LOL...there must be nice tone going out of it :)
