I realize that I'm way off topic but I have to sing & rejoice to the heavens above. First off, I need to qualify my credentials before I go any further. I've have worked in a prepress print environment for approximately 16 years. I've worked with a ton a macs and pc's. I spent 7,000.00 once for a Pentium 90...it had 32 megs of ram...what a screamer. :)
Anyways to the point, I just installed VMware on a Mac and have been giving it the ultimate grill test. If you guys want to know how good Windows can be, try it on a Mac. It's just absolutely awesome...installs in minutes, allows you to do multiple installs for testing.
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome.

Why would I want to install windows on my beloved Mac? I buy Macs so I DON"T have to use windows!!

My girlfriend installed Windows XP on her Mac and upgraded OSX with Leopard and it runs really well on both. Actually it's fantastic to have both types of use that each OS is good for. You have OSX for generally everything, music and graphics and stuff and then Windows for Games and the average pie chart making once in a while hehe. It does it all in one machine ! It's just great. And XP runs really well on it.

I was under the impression that mac's have a virtual desktop of some type

To boot Windows, The Mac system uses Boot Camp but that's pretty much just a boot loader like Lilo(Linux Loader) which is the program that allows you to select the OS that you will run. So it's not a virtual instance of windows running on OSX but Windows running directly on the MAC Hardware.

You can run them both at the same time using this...

I just Installed Leopard on one of the Macs at work today to see if there any printing / networking issues. So it seems to be running great.
