long time since i've seen a guitarist and said...WOW

you might have seen him before. But i love this man's music, and the way he has these beautiful melodies.

Thanks - I'd never heard of him before. Very cool stuff.

BTW, I just noticed that he's offering four of his mp3's on last.fm for free. Check out this link:

http://www.last.fm/music/Andy+McKee
(free songs are right under "Listen Now")

His bio there says he's a Satriani fan - I'd love to hear his take on some of Joe's songs. His covers of Bjork and Toto are very cool.

Into The Ocean for free? I've loved that song since I first heard it.

i was thinking of getting a les paul. Now I'm very tempted to get that martin, and learn how to play his songs.

he actually posts his tabs for most of his songs on the website :)

Andy mckee is awsome :D
U should check out the songs Rylynn and Heather's Song

went out and bought all his music.

I would recomend also buying Michael Hedge's "Ariel boundries". Great musician, although I was not very fond of his direction before he passed away. I'm trying to find something good for Preston Reed.

The funny part is how one of my favorite albums acoustically is "Friday night at San Fransisco", which musically speaking have nothing to do with the people above

It's too bad Into The Ocean is on harpguitar, I want to learn it.

If you like this guy check out Don Ross or Al Petteway.

mouhsen - November 15, 2007 06:54 PM (GMT)
Yup, he recommends Don Ross!

I think the better question is? Are there any books that teach how to build up tech to that level.

Mapu - November 28, 2007 09:17 PM (GMT)
Don ross is awesome as well, try "Midnight March" and "michael michael michael"
Itried to learn Midnight March, and done it in my way (a lot of fingerpickin skills are misiin here, haha)

And andy is indredible too, The first song that i listen and watched to is Drifting (also tried to learn it)

Rylynn is a beatiful piece! so Soulful (if that word exists) he explains that is about someone who's gone... sad.

he seems to be a veru good friend of don ross, in fact they play together rylynn live if my memory doesn't play tricks on me
