Kind a rehash of the JS 6, but kind of cool.

Neat. Nice find. Now if they would make some custom paints like the Donnies and such. B)

I think the 20th will be a graphic guitar, but I think a lot of people were expecting big changes to the JS line this year. This is kind of an indication that the changes won't be big if there will be any changes at all.

That better not be the 20th. That would be lame. Didn't he say it would be drastically different?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wedding_anniversary

so if it's the 20th anniversary, and it's the relationship between them, then it should be a china guitar :P

Well...
If you read the small print - the guitar has mahagony body! Was it the JS600 that had mahagony? I think that a change in the wood really is a big change. Exactly as big as if they changed the appearance.
If I may paraphrase myself - one of them is the physical outlook, the other one is the soul ^_^

(edit) ...and it does not have tremolo, like the JS600

Yes, the 600 was mahogany. This guitar is basically just a reissue if the 600. I think some of Joe's own words led a lot of people to think that the new JS would be a radical departure from the current model.

mouhsen - January 4, 2008 02:16 PM (GMT)
I think that the JS20th will be very radically different, at least we can hope. However I think if this is done [mohog js] in addition to the JS20th it will quite nice selection.

though I wonder what is the issue of having a JS mahagony and a trem?

the JS2000's point was to give you that stable tuning.

interesting....

now a JS20th with a quilted top would look like my Suhr

my suhr infront of my JSX amp

pff, not worth waiting for... my two cents... what a weird headstock.
To quote Rich 'it looks like ass, maybe better irl'

Im dissapointed too, I was expecting some bigger changes. The silver finish isnt bad but ibanez can do a lot more in this case (look: Custom Paint Mockup topic ;) ).

Avenyr - January 4, 2008 08:26 PM (GMT)
It almost looks like they forgot to paint the headstock... I mean I'd rather have a silver headstock rather than a basswood natural finish one...

The Mahogany body sounds interesting. I would have chosen a more esthetically appealing Bridge though... like a fixed Edge or even a gibraltar. It would fit better with the "high-tech" look of the guitar.

I'm alright with the small changes, that prevents me from cursing for days because of the RG550 Reissue I just bought which ruined me for the many months to come.

mouhsen - January 4, 2008 08:35 PM (GMT)
what's wrong with the RG?

Avenyr - January 4, 2008 09:23 PM (GMT)
There is absolutely nothing wrong with it. It's fantastic!

I don't have enough money to buy all the guitars I want... besides it's more luxury than need because I don't think having 25 guitars is necessary.

I don't like to sell my guitars to buy other ones. If an awesome JS model would have come out ,I would have been sad I couldn't afford it and hope I can still find one when I have the money for it.

The RG I got really is great both sonically and visually. I already have a JS1000BP so I don't really mind.

The_Alien - January 4, 2008 09:41 PM (GMT)
the headstock is terrible! i assumed it was silver and just a funny photo!

if the Headstock was silver, and it had a floyd rose of some description (maybe the fixed one from JS2000) i'd be excited about it, but it looks boring, like a JS600 that someone's modded by painting.

that's just looks though. but they could have done better, that's for sure.

imagine black snakes (outlines) all over the silver body... something to at least make it stand out and not look like an attempted replica JS1

Axeshredder - January 5, 2008 04:24 AM (GMT)
very uninteresting guitar to say the least...i have a silver beefed up js100 that kicks that guitars ass...i sure hope the 20th blows us away with some cool art...i would think it would be done by Joe himself...we'll see

^ AAAAHHHAAAA

SO AXE YOU HAVE BEEN WORKING WITH IBANEZ TO DEVELOP THE NEW LINE!!!! IT'S ALL YOUR FAULT!!!!!

just kidding, though seriously, your silver sparkle one looks pretty neat!, and the headstock doesn't suck :P

Heh..

That's the one I commented you about on your myspace.

tschommer - January 5, 2008 07:29 PM (GMT)
I actually kind of like it. It would be a great looking guitar if it had a maple neck.

daveirishman - January 7, 2008 01:47 PM (GMT)
