My girlfriend is the coolest hehe she just gave me my late christmas gift !
All the official Joe Satriani sheet music books she could find I'm so happy :D
I'm going to have an insane amount of songs to learn now :lol: I tried playing a bit of Surfing with the alien and satch boogie but this is way to advanced for me.
The only song I could probably be able to learn with my current skills is A Love Eternal.
I'll get to that after I'm done learning Foolin' from Def Leppard.
I'm only missing Not Of This earth and Time Machine which are both pretty hard to find. I got pretty much all the rest

oh yes! She entered me in a contest that had me win guitar classes with a teacher of my choice for 4 months and that guy loves Satriani and Vai and 80's metal and all that he's really cool so I kept taking classes with him.
If it wasn't for her I would still only have a single old and battered RG320 and I wouldn't be able to play anything.

Have a bash at Ten Words... or "Slow And Easy" ... they are good songs to learn make sure you got the actual song so you know how it sounds!
They should give you a good starting point.

Oh slow and easy sounds seems pretty simple to play but what effects does he go through to get that tone it's puzzling ? at first it sounds like a guitar sounding like a flute and then like a sitar?!

Its a Sitar effect on the solo part. According to Guitar pro program.
For me the main chorus i just put neck pickup on and both my tone knobs to 0 to create a thicker calm sound.
Then on the solo i just improvise in A minor on the bridge pickup. I always improvise the solos so my solo's won't sound like Joe in the future. Keeps my playing sounding more like me.

Thats too easy. Doesn't challenge the guitar playing at all though

Slow And Easy sounds fun to play but without the proper effects it's going to sound pretty weird. Ten Words is way to fast for me despite being a slow song :P
A Love Eternal doesn't sound so bad, at least I can somehow reproduce a similar tone if I play around with my stuff for a week or two :P
