Title: Whammy Pedal Pop Noise
Description: Anybody ever have "poping" sounds?

Hey All.
For a while I have been having a pop-ing type sound through my setup. I discovered it was my whammy pedal, and its frequent enough that its noticable and annoying. It occurs whenever the pedal is on or off, of course it can be heard while im not playing too. I dont know what it is, I have clean power, i'm using a power conditioner and the included whammy power adapter.
Anyone else experience this?

I have a whammy too (using the original power supply) and haven't had any problem. Mine doesnt really affect my signal when its turned on or off nor does it make any sound when I turn it on or off?
Possibly defective connections or wiring? There are some great guys on this forum who can give you the electrical side of it but thats all I can think of that would affect the pedal!

The new whammy series are really bad.
I owned the original (which was lost !!!!!!), it was perfect, although not true bypass. But the sound was wonderful.
I bought then two of the reeditions , and I experienced noise problems, and it's even worse when used on a stage with a lot of light effects. Although, I never had the "pop" noise you're talkin' bout.
I even experienced a serious latency problem with the very last serie. A latency that occurs after 20-30 seconds of use. I bot back to the shop to make an exchange, but I discovered that all the Whammy pedals from the shop had the same problem !
If you don't expect to change or give up your whammy, I suggest you buy or build a true bypass looper. Some are specially made for the whammy, with a small led screen so you can see the preset you're using and a lil' switch to change it.
Btw, I really think that heavy Whammy users (Vai, Satch, Morello and more) have their own pedal true bypass modified, since loss of signal has always been their weak point.
Friendly,

I have noticed a lot of noise too when it is turned on, its not that noticable when you are playing, but when i've performed with that pedal live, and my JSX at 6.... you can totally hear it unless your actually playing some notes....
I was thinking of building a true bypass as well, I dont feel like going through the trouble of a warrantee repair, and not having the pedal for that long. Especially with that many "problem" pedals out there, its not worth it. Plus I love the octave up/down mode on it!
(To further give me headaches.. my DD3 pedal, which I already had repaired once for the op-amp dying, is now acting weird... it will basically stop "delaying" and will come back to life when I fiddle around with the d.time nob)

It adds noise to my signal, on or off, but especially when on with the treadle down. I keep mine in a true bypass looper now.
