Title: Boss Digital Delay - Dd3 Vs. Dd6

Joel_01 - April 18, 2008 03:34 AM (GMT)
hi everyone,
is the DD6 that much different to the DD3 for the extra money? is it worth getting the DD6 over the DD3 even if i already have a boss loop station.

the dd6 has a few more bells and whistles.. the new DD7 looks great..

a looper is a bit different than a delay,, both are cool and fun too use

I chose DD6 and I a like the extra stuff, so I think it was worth. Especially the thing with the 'recording' (looping) 5 seconds is handy if you have a riff and wonder how would that sound with something over it.

I highly recommend trying the new DD7 as 5 seconds are not much. It has 40. It looks really cool and last week in thomann.de it was cheaper than DD6, do not ask me why, I have no idea

OH sorry, I did not read that you have the loop station. Anyways, I still recommend the 7.

I would pick the DD-3, simply because it sounds better.

The extra functions of the DD-6 and 7 are nice to fiddle around with but totally unusable for playing "normal" music.

Dd3 or a DD2 much more usable.

Stewmunny made a really nice comment. If you can find an old DD3, or DD2, I would also suggest going for them.
I like them more than the new ones

Of course this is a matter of taste. To me DD6 and DD3 have the same sound (newer versions), as I havehad them one against each other, so me personally would disagree with Borg Sex, but this is a matter of taste, so we are both correct. It is up to you.
If you can try them all, it would be best :)

Btw, I use Reverse and Warp functions also for live playing but Borg is correct, it is not that 'normal' :)

By the way, I do not know if this may help, but here is my topic a year ago about the same thing :)

Off Topic : I have the AD9 keeley, and my JSX doesn't like it in the FX. It sounds totally different, and I hate it for that matter.

On topic: for that matter, I will be looking for a Boss delay soon. This topic will help.

Boss always sounds great in the loop. Major difference in tone :)

I'll be replacing my DD-6 just as soon as the 7 comes out. I really like the sounds of the analog delay sound as well as the 40 second looper.
