Hi !
As it is my fav Joe album, for many reasons, that I wont explain now because it's a little late, I just start this topic before going to bed.
Sometime I just wonder why it's the most disliked and underrated of Joe's albums...
So, if you have anything to say about the superb Red Album, C'mon !

Hehe I (ab)use that album when I'm doing garden work or when I'm chilling.

In the documentary "Reel Satriani" about the making of the album they show him doing 5 different takes of "Luminous Flesh Giants" and the Producer and Joe weren't real happy with any of them until he did the final one. The others were a bit less intense. Live version of "Moroccan Sunset" from the Anaheim Webcast was real good.
Of course, Cool #9 is just a super tune and a song like "Killer Bebop" has never been attempted by any other electric guitarist.

Down Down Down is definitely amongst one of the most intensely emotional songs he's ever played.
Killer BeBop is insane. Just nuts. Most effective when cranked to 11.
Moroccan Sunset is one of my all-time favorite Satriani solo and song in general, emotional and gradually paints a very definite picture, and is sort of relaxing too.
Look my Way is probably one of the only vocal tracks by him I actually like, it's a great little song.
Slow Down Blues is an awesome song, the themes are great (especially the last one, that riff is fun as hell to play) and there's just so many instruments doing all sorts of things, it's fun to pick apart and sort of get lost in it. It's just real fun to listen to.

Yeah, this is a great album that had to grow on me... When I first got it I really didn't like it. It took a few years to sink in and now is one of my faves. I've never had any affinity to really bluesy music, but this turned me a round quite a lot.
'Home' is just astounding, simple, beautiful. thanks Joe!
