hi guys,
what do you reckon is the best choice of pickup.
its for an ibanez Rg
i play mostly satch, and john petrucci. i like the satch sound but i also sometimes prefer a change to a sort of 'vai sounding distortion'
any suggestions??????
thanks

How about a Mo Joe, and a PAF Joe.

Depends what RG you have ;)
The more expensive models got Ibanez USA/Dimarzio pups equipped already so theres not much point in changing them imo.

so i'll still be able to a 'vai' sound out of the mo joe and paf joe???

Alot depends on the natural timber of the instrument too. The JS has a more tubular sound than the Jem and hence the pickups suit that particular guitar. It really depends on the RG you have which to me are mostly like the PGM model which has PAF pros. I reckon you should try the various guitars at a shop and also play unplugged to gauge how your guitar's timber may compare to teh guitar you want to emulate.
