Your right actually! Great spot! I think its because the recordings are similar in technique and sound so they have the same general feel to them!

I actually did that today; I think it's the production that makes them sound similar.

Im no troll, i still like joe, i suppose im just dissapointed in him, i go away from the guitar world for 6 years and i come back and joe has been well surpassed, and not only that he isnt even trying anything new, its all the same old licks, nuthin really there to catch the ear. Who gives a crap about the technique? Does he have to dazzle you now? Does he have to think up some Power Cosmic arpeggio technique for every song? What if the song is a pile of crap, would you care just because you want to see Joe do some upsidedown sweeping finishing off with tapping with his tongue? Sure, he recycles a lot of pentatonic licks and his legato improvisations get stuck in a rut, but your comment back there was not intelligent or clever, it was childish. Do you actually know from specific examples? Or were you just trying to make a stupid joke? Honestly, how could you think for a second that was a mature criticism?

And the Redshift Riders solo is incredibly simple. If you think that outro solo was 'intense' or something, it wasn't because of the solo, it was because of the nature of the chord progression and drums in particular. Look at a tab for it - it's just a long pick-tap trill, some simple melodies, followed by a 'somewhat fast' lick Intro-of-Surfing's-outro-solo-style, and then some incredibly simple Chuck Berry pentatonic bends to finish it off. Nothing new or technically impressive whatsoever.

And really, learn how to spell. This isn't some chatroom. Nobody will care what you have to say or take you seriously f dey cn't evn reed etr

I'm not watching joe's playing im watching his music as a whole, listening to every note one by one will disappoint you, but listen to the song and you won't be. Joe isn't an overly technical guitarist, if you want that... Steve Vai is just around the corner but his music is much more harder to listen and enjoy.

So no i don't see any samey legato solos
