Title: If Joe Had To Write And Produce An Album

With any other guitarist who would you liek it to be? The possibility's are limitless, perhaps you would want to go a little more serious and go with a John McLaughlin or a Guthrie Govan, or maybe an old school great like Santana or Jeff Beck or maybe you'd even want him to do an album with your favorite band, i dont know, what do you think?

I know its a kinda boring and predictable choice but id love to see him do a full scale project with Steve Vai, Satch could keep Vai in check as far as making nice tunes, and vais presence would surely up satchs game as far as the technical stuff goes, it would be a great, great guitar album.

Something with Tom Morello. They could make lots of weird noises together.

I would actually like to see him working on a more higher profile band that gives him the free reign to do whatever he wants.

I know others would disagree, but I would love to see satch work with Eric Clapton or Gary Moore. (Yes, I bluesy rock). These guys can both sing well and write great songs. They can also hold up their side of the guitar work leaving Joe free to shine in the fills and solos. I have to admit that Joe would probably drop most of his wilder tricks and just play blues, but I could listen to that all day. :)

Joe with Hendrix....typical sods law though, as one guitar god died, a new one was born never to play side by side even though they would compliment each other well together.

the thing is that Joe as a blues player isn't very exciting. As basic blues IMHO he doesn't turn out the emotions that other people do [we are talking the greats]

The man writes a mean ballad, however to me, it's the weird out there things that are why i listen to satch.

just my 2 cents.

when I suggested Moore, I was thinking about the "still got the blues" album where he was switching from hard rock to blues. At that point, the two of them could have come up with some rock anthems or power blues. But I agree Joe would leave out a lot of his technical wizardry. You would feel let down in that area.

Joe, Hendrix and Phil Lenott on bass and sharing vocalls with Hendrix. The only problem with this line up is Joe would be in jail or rehab by the end of the recording.

Maybe Metallica? Then Joe could actually teach Kirk how to tastefully use a wah pedal.
