Title: The First CD - reviews please!
PhryDom - August 10, 2005 03:46 AM (GMT)
OK so maybe not all of you bought a copy (you should!!! Go to the shop! After you receive it, post away!!! All the profits go to charity!), but we want to hear your reviews!
Come on guys, this is a project that's open to ALL! That means YOU!
Let us know what you think of the first CD (and soon the second CD), and let us know what you'd like to see / hear!
Tell us what you like, don't like, think would be better!
This is your chance to be a part of something Joe Himself approved, and get yourself out there in the real world with your music!
This project needs input to stay alive, it needs fresh ears, eyes & ideas! I'm sure you have them!
Just go for it! ;)

T2J is great stuff! Thanks Eric for hosting this here :D
Re "The Shop" - have you guys considered electronic delivery? The US$4 plus the 8-10 days for international delivery is a bit of an obstacle... Perhaps set up payment through Paypal and allow purchasers to download instantly?

We have... it's something we plan on doing in the near future, probably after the second CD is released... naturally you won't get the graphics and the nice packaged item, buty you'll still get the tracks ;)

Honestly, the first thing I do with a new CD is rip it! :geek:

I think this whole idea is wonderful. Email me or something about how I could get a song of mine on the next cd. I have some great stuff I have wanted to dedicate to joe.

Mark (cube) and I will be using this forum as the main base for the next CD, and the future of the project in general. Trust me when I say that if there is any news on the project you will see it here :)

How exactly good do you have to be to get on the CD :( because i have some stuff but im afraid i will be shunned for my lack of experience (Currently 2 years)

That's a very good question, AJG.... but perhaps it's not as bad as you might think....
for the first CD pretty much everbody who sent a track made it (there were far fewer people at that time)... you can buy it now at
http://www.talk2joe.com/shop/ and hear clips on the site too
for the second CD we received
lots of tracks... it was difficult judging, believe me, but we tended to go with pieces that sounded original, had "something to say" (if you see what I mean).
I would say
submit a track, even if you think it might not be good enough. Do the best you can.
Be yourself. Don't try to be Joe (or anyone else!). Don't try to sound like Joe (or anyone else!). Don't try to play like Joe (or anyone else!).
Even if you can, don't.
Play like you. Sound like you.
That's all we ask, and we really hope you guys do just that!
Does that help...? :)

I enjoyed the album. There were 3 track off hand that I really liked, and 2 that I didn't. The production was good, but the 1st track was too quiet. I would by the next edition.
