joe has wrote and recorded 42 original pieces of soundtrack music for the electronic artists' game NASCAR 06. there are both full songs and also shorter background loops. here's a link that talks about joe's involvement....

That is pretty cool. I have always liked some video game songs like Castlevania, Ninja Gaiden, etc...:P
But Satch jamming on a 7-string JS to cars racing....that is cool!

Dr. A, Satch did a track called The Speed of Light of the Mario Bros movie. The track is on the Time Machine album. I'll get the game just to hear Satch though. B)

I just bought NASCAR 06 for my PS2 and to my amazement, Joe was chosen to do the soundtrack for it. He has 11 songs on there and they absolutely rock!!!! It's like having a new studio album out. I'm gonna have to find a way to rip them off the PS2 disc so I can listen to them in my car! It's good stuff, so if you are a PS2 fan, Nascar fan, and a Joe fan...I would get this game! Just giving you heads up that Joe has some new material out there, who knows, maybe these will be on his new studio album???

Yeah, I'm going stupid over here trying to find someone with the game so I can rip the tracks off it. I'm kind of thinking of buying it for the pc. I had one of the NASCAR games a couple years ago and liked it.
I remember Joe saying about a year ago that he'd love to do some music for video games. Guess he got his chance.
Speaking of NASCAR, Steve Vai did a track for the Sounds of NASCAR. Lots of other cool tunes on there too but I think its only available on Itunes. B)

on the g3 dvd...Joe mention how his mind was boggled with all the music he was writing for this game at the time of the g3 tokyo show ...over 30 of them from 3 minutes to only a few seconds but as always he wanted to do his best work ...and thats what i expect

Hey man EA it's using songs of many artist, i'm really glad that now it's Joe's music, and i'm also a fan of nascar games, of course that i will rip the songs to hear in my car! I just have to find a way to do it hehe!!!

I was wondering if they had a soundtrack myself. I am not much of a nascar fan, but joe is my favorite instrumental guitarist and I want to hear the music. I guess i am gonna buy the game.

Anyone know if there's an update to this? Last I heard they were going to make the tracks available for individual download on iTunes, Rhapsody, Yahoo! Music, etc., but I can't find them on the services I checked so far.
Also, does anyone know where I can find info on any the individual songs? I have a feeling that Joe just checked out some of the game play and just got inspired by that, but I can't find anything.
That and Vai's "Fire Strings" seems to have vanished into the void...
